INTRODUCTION
How often do religious issues impact pop culture? We mean really. Grammy speeches don't count. Neither do Veggie Tales movies, Christian albums, Christian books (since they usually only find Christian audiences) or anything spoken by Britney Spears. Stop and think about the last time you heard the Gospel openly discussed on national network television countless times in a one-month span?
Still thinking? Us too. In our time, at least, never has the story of Christ been the subject of so much conversation in the general public. And it's all because of a little movie made for very little money but driven by a mega-star. It's because of The Passion of the Christ, Mel Gibson's attempt at making Jesus mainstream. We've been hearing about it for the better part of a year and watched while zillions have drawn conclusions about it without ever having seen it. We held our tongues. But now we've taken it in. Viewed it in its final form. And this is what some of us have to say about it-in 300 words or less. Read on, and be sure to tell us what you think as well.
